The Department of Employment and Labour is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Administrative Clerk: Management Support Services (X2 Posts). These posts are based at Labour Centres in Vryheid and Port Shepstone and are ideal for individuals with strong administrative skills who are committed to supporting effective service delivery within government operations.

Salary and Post Details

  • Salary: R228 321 per annum

  • Post Reference: POST 04/60

  • Number of Posts: Two (2)

Centres and Placement

Successful candidates will be appointed at the following Labour Centres:

  • Labour Centre: Vryheid

    Number of Posts: One (1)

  • Labour Centre: Port Shepstone
    Reference No: HR4/4/5/103
    Number of Posts: One (1)

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  • Matriculation / Grade 12 / Senior Certificate

  • Knowledge of:

    • Batho Pele Principles

    • Departmental Policies and Procedures

    • Treasury Regulations

  • A clear understanding of administrative processes within a government environment will be an added advantage.

These competencies are essential for providing efficient administrative and operational support within the Labour Centre.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful Administrative Clerk will be responsible for a variety of management support functions, including:

  • Providing technical advice on operational matters and rendering general administrative support in the Labour Centre

  • Performing daily Supply Chain Management functions at the Labour Centre

  • Providing finance and office management services

  • Rendering Human Resource Management support, including administrative HR functions

  • Managing training and performance-related activities within the Labour Centre

  • Ensuring effective records management, including filing, retrieval, and compliance with records policies

This role requires accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple administrative responsibilities effectively.
