VKB Group is recruiting a reliable and hardworking General Worker to join its VKB Grain operations in Vrede, Free State, on a permanent basis. The role focuses on supporting silo operations through material handling, housekeeping, customer assistance, and basic operational support while maintaining strict safety and cleanliness standards.
About the Role
The General Worker plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient functioning of silo operations. The position involves manual labour, assisting with loading and offloading, maintaining cleanliness of the premises, supporting stock control activities, and ensuring that safety procedures are followed at all times.
This role suits candidates who are dependable, able to work in physically demanding environments, and willing to operate in industrial and agricultural settings, including working at heights and in confined spaces (training provided).
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support and Material Handling
The successful candidate will assist with loading and offloading of stock, movement of materials, and general support to silo operations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Housekeeping and Cleaning Duties
Responsibilities include maintaining general tidiness of the silo and surrounding premises, performing routine cleaning duties, and ensuring work areas remain clean, safe, and organised at all times.
Customer and Supplier Assistance
The role involves assisting customers and suppliers during loading and offloading activities, providing basic customer service support, and ensuring adherence to operational and safety procedures.
Safety Compliance and Ad Hoc Duties
The General Worker must follow all safety rules and procedures, demonstrate strong safety awareness, and carry out ad hoc duties as assigned from time to time to support operational requirements.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 or NQF Level 4
