Motus Corporation is recruiting a highly skilled and results-driven Warehouse Manager to join Motus Aftermarket Parts at its Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) in Philippi, Cape Town on a permanent basis. This mid-senior leadership role is suited to an experienced warehouse and logistics professional with a strong background in large-scale operations, high-value inventory control, and unionised workforce management.
The role carries full accountability for overseeing complex warehousing and logistics operations, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, safety, and continuous improvement across all functions.
About the Role
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading and optimising all warehouse and logistics activities at a high-volume RDC. This includes end-to-end oversight of receiving, storage, picking, distribution, and dispatch operations, while maintaining strict control over inventory integrity and operational costs.
The role requires strong strategic and operational leadership, advanced systems knowledge, and the ability to manage a large, unionised workforce in line with labour legislation and collective agreements. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving efficiency, accuracy, and safety within a demanding automotive aftermarket environment.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse and Logistics Operations Management
The successful candidate will oversee all warehousing and logistics operations, ensuring efficient and accurate receiving, storage, distribution, and dispatch of parts. Operational performance must consistently meet service, quality, and productivity targets.
Inventory and Stock Control
The role includes full responsibility for managing high-value inventory exceeding R100 million and a large SKU portfolio of more than 10,000 items. This requires robust control systems to ensure inventory accuracy, minimise losses, and maintain optimal stock availability.
Operational Efficiency and Continuous Improvement
The Warehouse Manager will drive productivity, accuracy, and efficiency through effective process management and continuous improvement initiatives. This includes analysing operational data, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing best-practice warehouse solutions.
People and Industrial Relations Management
A critical component of the role is leading a large, unionised workforce. Responsibilities include workforce planning, performance management, discipline, and maintaining sound industrial relations in compliance with labour legislation and collective agreements.
Health, Safety, and Legal Compliance
The role requires ensuring full compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards and all relevant legal requirements. Maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring adherence to safety procedures across all warehouse operations is essential.
Systems, Reporting, and Stakeholder Engagement
The Warehouse Manager must demonstrate strong capability in the use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and reporting tools. Clear communication and effective stakeholder management are required to align operations with broader business objectives.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates applying for this role must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification (minimum NQF Level 7) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior warehouse and logistics management role

Proven experience managing high-value inventory (R100 million+)

Experience overseeing large SKU portfolios (10,000+ SKUs)

Demonstrated leadership in managing large, unionised teams with sound industrial relations knowledge

Current and valid Health, Safety, and Legal Compliance certifications

Strong knowledge of WMS, ERP systems, and reporting tools

Excellent analytical, organisational, and decision-making skills

Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

Valid South African Driver’s License
