About the Role
Reporting directly to the Manager: Service, the Apprentice Level 1 will support qualified technicians in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles while developing essential mechanical skills. This role is designed to introduce candidates to workshop operations, safety standards, and basic vehicle repair processes within a professional dealership environment.
The successful candidate must demonstrate enthusiasm for learning, technical curiosity, discipline, and a strong commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Repair Assistance and Workshop Support
The apprentice will assist technicians with vehicle repairs under direct supervision. This includes removing and replacing parts or units, supporting general mechanical repairs, and assisting with daily workshop tasks as required.
Mechanical and Technical Duties
Key duties include jacking up vehicles and placing trestles, assisting with lubrication and oil changes according to manufacturer specifications, removing and replacing wheels, and fitting air and oil filters. The apprentice will also assist with battery removal and installation as part of routine servicing activities.
Parts Handling and Housekeeping
The role requires cleaning of vehicle parts, maintaining a clean and organised work area, and ensuring that tools and equipment are kept in good working order. The apprentice must keep overalls clean and maintain high housekeeping standards at all times.
Training and Skills Development
The Apprentice Level 1 is required to attend prescribed technical and level-based courses as part of the formal apprenticeship programme. Active participation in training and a willingness to continuously improve technical knowledge are essential to success in this role.
Safety and Compliance
