Department of Employment and Labour is inviting suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Senior Administration Officer: UIF Claims Processor. These permanent positions are available across multiple Labour Centres in the North West Province. The successful candidates will play a critical role in administering Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) claims, ensuring service excellence, legislative compliance, and effective client support.

Salary

R397 116 per annum

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet all the following requirements:

  • An undergraduate qualification at NQF Level 6, recognised by SAQA, in one of the following fields:
    Operations Management, Public Management or Administration, Business Administration or Management, Administrative Management, Management, Financial Accounting, or Finance

  • At least two (2) years’ functional experience in one of the following environments:
    Client Services, Claims Processing, Operations, or Insurance


Knowledge Requirements

  • Unemployment Insurance Act (UIA) and Regulations

  • Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act (UICA)

  • Department of Employment and Labour policies and UIF procedures

  • Operations systems

  • Batho Pele Principles

  • Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)


Skills and Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Presentation and listening skills

  • Computer literacy

  • Problem-solving ability

  • Planning and organising skills

  • Ability to work accurately under pressure

  • Professional conduct and teamwork orientation


Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for the following core functions:

  • Providing Unemployment Insurance services through direct interaction with clients

  • Processing and administering UIF claims in accordance with legislative and policy requirements

  • Conducting quality assurance and follow-ups on UIF applications

  • Ensuring accurate claims processing and adherence to service standards

  • Supervising allocated resources, including human resources, financial resources, and equipment/assets

  • Supporting operational efficiency within the UIF Claims Processing environment
