Impact HR is seeking a motivated and results-oriented Sales Consultant to join a growing FMCG-focused sales operation based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. This is a contract position suited to a driven sales professional with a strong ability to generate leads, close deals, and build lasting client relationships in a competitive market.

The role plays a key part in driving sales revenue and business growth through proactive prospecting, solution-based selling, and consistent achievement of sales targets.


About the Role

The Sales Consultant is responsible for managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification through to negotiation and deal closure. The role requires a high level of independence, strong communication skills, and the ability to understand customer needs and present tailored solutions.

This position reports directly to the Sales Manager and offers the opportunity to earn performance-based commission, making it ideal for a highly motivated and target-driven individual.


Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation and Prospecting

The successful candidate will actively identify and engage potential customers through cold calling, networking, and other lead generation activities. Building a strong and sustainable sales pipeline is essential to achieving consistent results.


Client Engagement and Needs Analysis

The role includes qualifying leads and developing a deep understanding of client needs, challenges, and objectives. The Sales Consultant must engage clients professionally and position products or services as effective solutions.


Product Presentation and Deal Closure

The Sales Consultant will present and demonstrate products or services to potential clients, negotiate commercial terms, and close deals in line with sales targets and business objectives.

Strong negotiation and closing skills are critical to success in this role.


Customer Relationship Management

Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and retention is a core responsibility. The Sales Consultant must build strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and long-term partnerships.


Sales Strategy Collaboration

The role requires collaboration with internal team members to develop and refine sales strategies, improve conversion rates, and identify new growth opportunities.


Market Awareness and Reporting

The Sales Consultant must stay informed on industry trends and competitor activity to identify new sales opportunities. Regular reporting on sales activities, pipeline progress, and forecasts must be submitted to management.


Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sales Consultant or in a similar sales role

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Results-driven sales and customer service orientation

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • High level of organisation and attention to detail

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field – advantageous

  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
