Ampath Laboratories is seeking to appoint a skilled and experienced Payroll Administrator to join its Payroll Department on a permanent basis at its Centurion location. About the Role
The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for capturing, setting up, and processing monthly payrolls, including selection and resignation runs, for a large employee base. The role plays a vital part in ensuring that payroll processes are handled accurately, transparently, and in line with organisational policies and statutory requirements.
This position supports leaders and employees by ensuring dependable payroll information, enabling effective decision-making, trust, and accountability within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing and Administration
The successful candidate will capture and process monthly payroll instructions, including dummy runs, to ensure accurate salary payments. This includes managing payroll for approximately 700 employees per month and ensuring all payroll activities are completed timeously and correctly.
Reconciliations and Compliance
The role involves reconciling medical aids, provident funds, union deductions, salary data, and SARS payments to ensure full statutory and organisational compliance. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical to maintaining credibility and trust.
Medical Aid and Employee Records Management
You will update and maintain medical aid information, ensuring that employee benefits are correctly captured and administered, and that employees receive timely and accurate support.
Reporting and Stakeholder Support
The Payroll Administrator will compile payroll-related reports to support leadership discussions, assist with payroll queries, and build positive relationships with internal clients to strengthen organisational effectiveness.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Grade 12 with Mathematics or Accounting at Higher Grade

Recognised payroll qualification

At least 5 years’ general payroll experience

At least 5 years’ payroll administration experience
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working on Sage 300 People

Experience in Medical Aid reconciliation
