About the Role
The Sales Assistant is responsible for providing high-quality customer service while actively contributing to sales maximisation and revenue growth. The role requires a professional, presentable individual who can confidently assist customers, promote products, and uphold GALXBOY’s brand standards on the sales floor.
The position plays a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction, driving conversion, maintaining store presentation, and supporting daily retail operations.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service and Sales Performance
The Sales Assistant is responsible for greeting customers upon entry, assisting them in locating products, and providing accurate product information and recommendations. This includes actively engaging customers to understand their needs and delivering a personalised shopping experience.
The role requires consistent implementation of upselling and cross-selling techniques to increase Units Per Transaction (UPT), Average Transaction Value (ATV), conversion rates, and overall turnover. The Sales Assistant must understand and promote all available payment methods, including PAYFLEX, PJN, and Happy Pay.
Representing the GALXBOY brand professionally is essential, including strict adherence to uniform policy, grooming standards, and maintaining a confident, presentable appearance on the sales floor.
Visual Merchandising Support
The Sales Assistant must maintain a thorough understanding of all products, including materials, care instructions, pricing, and placement. This knowledge enables effective customer assistance and supports a positive shopping experience.
Responsibilities include steaming, tagging, pricing, hanging, folding, replenishing merchandise, and optimising available space. The Sales Assistant must understand and follow visual merchandising guidelines and practices to ensure consistency and brand alignment throughout the store.
Stock Control and Stockroom Management
The role includes maintaining stockroom organisation and cleanliness, ensuring products are correctly categorised and easily accessible to support efficient sales processes. The Sales Assistant must actively communicate with management regarding stock levels, sell-outs, best sellers, and any additional stock requirements.
Accurate handling of stock contributes to effective replenishment, improved customer satisfaction, and reduced operational delays.
Daily Operations and Housekeeping
The Sales Assistant must consistently adhere to time and attendance procedures, including clocking in and out correctly, reporting late arrivals, and following assigned rosters.
The role includes processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system, handling cash, updating variance schedules, and processing credit and debit card payments and other approved payment methods. Attention to detail and accuracy is essential to maintain operational efficiency and financial control.
Minimum Requirements
