Grade 10 / Standard 8 or ABET Level 4 certificate or equivalent

Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Basic knowledge of working with horticultural and garden equipment

Willingness to work according to an operational work schedule as required by the office

Key Responsibilities
General Grounds and Garden Maintenance

Maintain government premises and surrounding outdoor areas

Perform routine garden maintenance tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Planting, pruning, watering, and mowing of lawns and plants

Maintenance of flower beds, including weeding and soil preparation
-
Ensure gardens and landscaped areas remain neat, healthy, and presentable
Horticultural and Landscaping Duties

Carry out paving-related garden work where required

Assist with tree maintenance, including tree felling under supervision

Perform chainsaw and mowing duties when required and authorised

Support general horticultural activities to improve and maintain outdoor spaces
Waste and Refuse Management

Remove garden refuse from work areas

Load garden waste onto trucks for transportation to designated dumping sites

Ensure outdoor areas remain clean and free from debris
Health and Safety Compliance

Adhere strictly to occupational health and safety standards at all times

Use garden tools and equipment safely and correctly

Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or hazards to the supervisor
