Public Service Support Role within the National Prosecutions Service
The National Prosecutions Service (NPS) invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Messenger / Driver, based at the Office of the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (DDPP) in Thohoyandou.
This role is ideal for a dependable, professional, and service-driven individual who can operate independently while supporting daily prosecutorial operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient movement, control, and distribution of official correspondence and documents.
About the Role
The Messenger / Driver is responsible for maintaining an effective and efficient messenger and driving service within the DDPP office. The position requires a high level of reliability, accountability, and professionalism, as it involves handling official documentation and working within a regulated public service environment.
The role demands strong organisational skills, good communication, and the ability to work under pressure while meeting strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Messenger and Delivery Services

Maintain an effective and efficient messenger service

Deliver and collect documents within and around the DDPP office
-
Deliver and collect mail from the post office
-
Ensure timeous and secure handling of official correspondence
Mail and Registry Support
-
Open and register incoming mail and parcels
-
Collect, record, and distribute correspondence
-
Use the approved file plan for accurate document tracking
-
Maintain orderly and compliant handling of registry-related documents
Operational and Professional Conduct

Work independently while remaining accountable and credible

Adhere to registry procedures and office protocols
-
Maintain confidentiality of all official documents
-
Be available to work extended hours when required
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification

Valid driver’s licence

Knowledge of registry procedures

Ability to work extended hours

Demonstrable competency in working independently and professionally
