Support Services Opportunity within National Justice Institutions

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for two (2) Food Service Aid positions based within key justice institutions in Pretoria and Centurion. These roles provide essential catering and hospitality support services that contribute to the smooth running of official meetings and daily operations.

About the Role

The Food Service Aid plays a key role in providing catering and hospitality support services during meetings and official events. The position focuses on food and beverage service, kitchen hygiene, preparation of conference venues, and monitoring catering supplies.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and strong interpersonal skills when dealing with officials, colleagues, and visitors.


Key Responsibilities

Catering and Hospitality Support

  • Provide catering support services during meetings and official functions

  • Serve food and beverages professionally during meetings

  • Prepare conference facilities before meetings and clean up afterwards


Kitchen and Equipment Management

  • Clean kitchen utensils, cutlery, and catering equipment

  • Ensure kitchen and serving areas are kept clean and hygienic

  • Check and prepare cutlery, crockery, and equipment prior to use


Stock Monitoring and Control

  • Monitor food supplies and consumables

  • Report food wastage, losses, or shortages timeously

  • Assist in maintaining order and cleanliness in storage areas


Minimum Requirements

To be considered for these positions, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • ABET Level 4 or Grade 10 qualification

Salary and Employment Details

  • Salary: R163 680 – R192 810 per annum

  • Employment Type: Permanent
