Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: R397,116 – R467,790 per annum (negotiable based on experience)

Your Responsibilities

Financial Management & Governance

  • Oversee Vote Accounts and Trust Fund administration with full accountability
  • Manage Supply Chain Management processes in compliance with PFMA
  • Implement and monitor budgetary controls and expenditure tracking
  • Ensure compliance with Departmental Financial Instructions and Treasury regulations
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management
  • Manage procurement processes and vendor relationships
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies

Human Resource Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and performance-manage administrative teams
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes
  • Manage leave administration, attendance, and employee relations
  • Implement training and development initiatives
  • Handle disciplinary processes and grievance procedures
  • Foster a culture of professionalism and service excellence
  • Ensure compliance with Public Service regulations and Labour Relations Act

Criminal & Civil Administration

  • Supervise the end-to-end management of criminal and civil court processes
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and file management systems
  • Coordinate with prosecutors, legal representatives, and other stakeholders
  • Monitor case progression and identify administrative bottlenecks
  • Implement quality control measures for court documentation
  • Manage court scheduling and resource allocation

Family Law Operations (Where Applicable)

  • Oversee specialized family law services and maintenance court operations
  • Manage sensitive matters involving children and family disputes
  • Coordinate with social workers, psychologists, and Family Advocate offices
  • Ensure child-centered approaches in all family law matters
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle trauma-informed service delivery

Case Flow Management & Court Support

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to judicial officers
  • Facilitate efficient case flow management systems
  • Coordinate with SAPS, correctional services, and legal aid
  • Manage court user interfaces and stakeholder relationships
  • Support technology implementation and digitization initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with case management protocols

Strategic Planning & Reporting

  • Develop operational plans aligned with departmental objectives
  • Compile statistical reports and performance indicators
  • Identify service delivery challenges and propose solutions
  • Participate in management meetings and strategic planning sessions

Essential Requirements

Qualifications

Mandatory:

  • Three-year National Diploma in Public Administration, Public Management, or equivalent
    OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Public Management, or related field

Recognized institutions: Degrees from SAQA-accredited universities or technikons

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years in administrative roles within government or justice sector
  • Proven track record in managing teams and operational functions
  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of: HR, Finance, or Supply Chain Management

Legislative & Technical Knowledge

Financial Management:

  • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations
  • Vote Account and Trust Fund administration
  • Departmental Financial Instructions (DFIs)
  • Basic Accounting System (BAS) and Justice Yellow Pages
  • Budget preparation and expenditure monitoring

Human Resource Management:

  • Public Service Act and Regulations
  • Labour Relations Act and employment equity

Supply Chain Management:

  • Procurement processes and tender procedures
