About the Role
The Retail Shop Assistant plays a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the Louis Trichardt branch. The position focuses on customer engagement, sales support, merchandising, and general retail duties to ensure a positive in-store experience for all customers.
This role requires a confident, reliable, and service-oriented individual who can work well in a team environment while contributing to sales targets and operational standards. Exposure to tools, machinery, or hardware products will be beneficial, but a willingness to learn is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service and Sales Support
The successful candidate will assist customers with product enquiries, provide knowledgeable service, and support sales activities within the store. Delivering excellent customer service and building positive customer relationships is a core responsibility of this role.
Merchandising and Stock Management
Responsibilities include maintaining product displays according to company standards, assisting with stock control, stock taking, and ensuring accurate pricing and shelf presentation. Attention to detail and organisation are essential to maintain a professional retail environment.
Retail Operations and Team Support
The Retail Shop Assistant will support general branch procedures, assist colleagues when needed, and help maintain cleanliness and order on the sales floor. Teamwork and adherence to company policies are critical to ensuring smooth daily operations.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Senior Certificate (Grade 12)

Entry-level retail experience will be advantageous

Willingness to learn about tools, machinery, and hardware products

Ability to work retail trading hours, including Saturdays

Good communication skills
