About the Role
The Repairs Technician will play a critical role in supporting Adendorff Machinery Mart’s technical and service operations at the Louis Trichardt branch. The position focuses on the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of tools and machinery sold by the company.
This role requires strong practical ability, technical knowledge, and the confidence to work independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer interaction. Hands-on experience is essential, and candidates are expected to clearly list relevant repair and maintenance experience on their CV.
Key Responsibilities
Repairs, Servicing, and Maintenance
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out pre-delivery inspections, routine servicing, and technical repairs on Adendorff’s product range. This includes diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and ensuring that all machinery is fully functional before being issued to customers.
The role also involves troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, ensuring that potential issues are identified and resolved before they escalate into larger mechanical or electrical failures.
Tools and Machinery Expertise
The technician will work on a broad range of equipment, including:

Compressors

Small machinery such as petrol and diesel engines

Generators

Printed circuit boards (PC boards – advantageous)
Hands-on experience with these product categories is critical and forms a core requirement for the role.
Stock Control and Workshop Management
The position includes responsibility for requesting spare parts and consumables, as well as safeguarding base stock within the workshop environment. Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work area is essential, with daily housekeeping forming part of standard duties.
Attention to detail and adherence to internal procedures ensure efficient workshop operations and consistent service quality.
Customer and Technical Support
The Repairs Technician must be able to communicate effectively with customers, providing clear explanations of technical issues, repairs performed, and maintenance recommendations. This role requires the ability to interact professionally with customers at all levels while representing the Adendorff brand.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Senior Certificate (Grade 12)

Strong technical and mechanical aptitude

Ability to work independently

Proven hands-on experience in maintenance and repairs

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English

Willingness to work retail trading hours, including Saturdays
