Lead Proactive Community Security Operations in a High-Impact Management Role

Fidelity Services Group, through its Fidelity ADT division, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Community Operations Manager to join its JHB South operations based in Alberton, Gauteng.

This permanent, mid-senior management role is suited to a strong operational leader with extensive security industry experience, capable of driving proactive community-based security strategies, operational excellence, and customer growth while supporting branch leadership.


About the Role

The Community Operations Manager works closely with the Branch Manager and Regional Operations Manager to drive growth, reduce attrition, and deploy effective community security strategies within the branch.

The role carries full responsibility for operational management across response, logistics, compliance, staff performance, SAPS coordination, customer engagement, and proactive crime prevention initiatives. This position requires 24-hour availability and hands-on leadership in high-risk and high-visibility environments.


Key Responsibilities

Proactive Strategy and Crime Reduction

  • Develop and continuously refine proactive security strategies including patrols, visibility drives, standoff points, and joint operations.

  • Identify high-crime, high-attrition, and low-reconnection areas and execute targeted operations weekly.

  • Conduct quarterly area risk assessments based on crime trends and incident analysis.

  • Plan and execute special crime-reduction operations in collaboration with internal teams and SAPS.

  • Develop reporting metrics to track crime reduction and customer growth outcomes.

SAPS and Community Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with SAPS sector members, commanders, CPF structures, and station leadership.

  • Attend SAPS, CPF, and crime meetings alongside branch management.

  • Coordinate and participate in joint SAPS operations, roadblocks, and visibility initiatives.

  • Act as a key liaison between operations, business, and SAPS to resolve crime incidents.

Customer Service and Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure all community communication platforms (including WhatsApp groups) are operational and effectively managed.

  • Compile and distribute monthly proactive operations reports to all stakeholders.

  • Attend serious crime incidents personally and support affected clients.

  • Engage regularly with Local Security Site (LSS) steering committees.

  • Ensure response activities are delivered in a manner that supports customer retention and satisfaction.

Staff Training and Development

  • Ensure proactive training is conducted for all reaction and LSS officers.

  • Drive continuous on-the-job training focused on proactive security mindset, visibility, supervision, and public space protection.

  • Evaluate staff performance and identify ongoing development needs.

  • Motivate, coach, and monitor teams to improve operational effectiveness.

Operational and Compliance Management

  • Manage response areas, ensuring service levels and response KPIs are achieved.

  • Enforce SOP compliance across patrols, standoff points, and operations.

  • Control budgets, overtime, expenses, procurement, and purchases.

  • Manage fleet operations including fuel usage, vehicle maintenance, and violations.

  • Oversee firearms control, FAMS compliance, and logistics management.

  • Manage payroll inputs, leave, overtime, absenteeism, and timebooks.

  • Ensure PSIRA compliance, firearm competency, and training requirements are up to date.

  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and disciplinary matters.

  • Support HR processes including recruitment, performance appraisals, and disciplinary hearings.

  • Drive adherence to the company’s Zero Harm health and safety philosophy.

Reporting and Performance Management

  • Compile operational, incident, and accident reports.

  • Track performance targets aligned with operational requirements and company strategy.

  • Manage statistics and reporting on a daily, weekly, and quarterly basis.

  • Lead special projects and assist with system implementations when required.


Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.

  • Post-matric qualification in General Management will be advantageous.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience at mid-management level.

  • Grade B PSIRA Certificate (including Reaction).

  • Grade B Security Certificate (or to be obtained upon appointment).

  • Valid driver’s license (minimum 2 years).

  • Firearm competency (handgun for business purposes).
