About the Role

The Sales Representative: Parts is responsible for selling automotive parts and components while ensuring accurate processing, stock availability, and excellent service delivery to both internal and external customers. The role requires close collaboration with technicians, service advisors, and workshop teams to ensure parts are supplied timeously and correctly.

This position plays a critical role in supporting workshop productivity and maintaining high customer satisfaction standards across multiple vehicle brands.


Key Responsibilities

Parts Sales and Processing

  • Capture parts transactions accurately on the Drive accounting system and OEM systems.

  • Process parts sales efficiently to meet customer and workshop requirements.

  • Ensure fast-moving parts orders are automated through system processes.

  • Provide accurate advice and reporting on transactional and process activities within set guidelines.

Stock Control and Availability

  • Maintain appropriate stock levels to ensure parts availability.

  • Monitor consumption trends and report anomalies with recommendations for improvement.

  • Order non-stock parts once authorization has been received from the Service Advisor.

  • Accurately reconcile transaction records of parts, products, and accessories.

Workshop and Technician Support

  • Pick and issue parts accurately and timeously in line with job cards.

  • Support technicians by ensuring correct parts are supplied without delays.

  • Resolve workshop-related complaints efficiently and professionally.

  • Ensure all parts issued align with job specifications and repair requirements.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements, including FICA, POPI Act, Consumer Protection Act, and Health & Safety standards.

  • Maintain accurate records to support audits and compliance verification.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement through process monitoring and reporting.

Customer Service Excellence

  • Build positive relationships with customers through professional service delivery.

  • Contribute to a culture of service excellence and customer satisfaction.

  • Provide feedback opportunities and support exceptional service experiences.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Higher Certificate and/or Advanced National (Vocational) Certificate (relevant NQF level).

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in automotive parts sales.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Strong knowledge of industry legislation and compliance requirements.

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to identify automotive parts and accessories across multiple brands.

  • Solid understanding of vehicle structures and component functionality.

  • Sound knowledge of sales administration processes.

  • Proficiency in operating systems such as Drive (advantageous).
