This is a high-impact leadership role where you will be responsible for driving the store’s financial performance while fostering a high-performing culture. Role Purpose
The Store Manager ensures the efficient operation of the store by leading the operations team to meet ambitious sales, profit, and compliance targets. Reporting to the Area Manager, you will be the custodian of the brand image at Festival Mall, ensuring that every customer experience is world-class. You will bridge the gap between front-shop operations and professional services, creating a unified team that drives customer loyalty and shareholder value.
Key Job Objectives
1. Financial Management & Sales Strategy

Performance Tracking: Achieve financial targets by monitoring daily sales, analyzing weekly and monthly plans, and implementing corrective actions to maximize revenue.

Commercial Thinking: Use your financial acumen to manage budgets, interpret profit and loss statements, and optimize financial ratios for store profitability.

ClubCard Integration: Drive customer loyalty initiatives and achieve specific ClubCard participation targets through excellent in-store execution.
2. Operational Excellence & Compliance

Stock & Shrinkage: Efficiently manage all operational activities, including strict stock control, shrinkage reduction, and rigorous administrative oversight.

Visual Standards: Ensure that visual merchandising and promotional standards are consistently met, maintaining a store appearance that aligns perfectly with the Clicks brand.

Housekeeping: Oversee general housekeeping and administrative responsibilities, ensuring that employee records and time-and-attendance data are submitted accurately.
3. People Leadership & Capacity Building

Team Development: Select and lead a competent team, focusing on ongoing development to meet current and future business needs.

Labor Modeling: Schedule staff effectively in line with the Group’s labor policy, ensuring that the store is appropriately staffed across all departments at all times.

Conflict Resolution: Utilize your knowledge of labor legislation and IR practices to manage employee relations and foster a cohesive working environment.
4. Stakeholder & Market Alignment

External Relations: Maintain professional relationships with Festival Mall centre management, suppliers, and distribution centres to maximize business opportunities.

Competitor Analysis: Monitor local competitor activity and customer demographics to stay ahead of market trends and capitalize on local opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Qualifications
-
Essential: Grade 12 with a minimum of 50% in Mathematics and 50% in English.

External Candidates: A B.Degree or Diploma in Retail Management, Finance, Pharmacy, or a related field is essential.

Internal Candidates: Successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
Experience & Skills
-
Leadership History: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a store management role within a retail/FMCG environment.

Financial Expertise: Proven experience in managing budgets and profit and loss (P&L) statements.

Technical Knowledge: Sound understanding of merchandising principles, labor legislation, and IR practices.

Digital Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail operating systems.
