Role Purpose
The Store Manager is responsible for the end-to-end efficient operation of the store. Reporting directly to the Area Manager, you will lead and direct the store operations team to achieve sales, profit, and compliance targets. Your leadership will ensure a competitive advantage for the Clicks brand by integrating store operations, pharmacy, and clinic teams into a cohesive, high-performing unit that delivers exceptional shareholder value and customer satisfaction.
Key Job Objectives
1. Financial Performance & Sales Growth

Target Management: Achieve the store’s financial goals by driving sales, tracking daily targets, and executing weekly and monthly sales plans.

Proactive Strategy: Monitor sales trends and local competitor activity to capitalise on market opportunities and adjust business strategies in real-time.

ClubCard Participation: Execute customer service initiatives that drive loyalty and meet specific ClubCard participation targets.
2. Operational Excellence & Risk Management

Expense Control: Efficiently manage all store operational activities, including strict control over expenses, stock management, and administration.

Shrinkage Reduction: Implement robust risk and compliance procedures to minimize shrinkage and protect store assets.

Visual Merchandising: Ensure in-store presentation and promotional standards are flawless, aligning the store’s appearance with the Clicks brand image.
3. People Leadership & Development

Capacity Building: Select, lead, and develop employees to build a motivated workforce capable of meeting current and future business needs.

Labor Management: Schedule staff in accordance with the Group’s labor policy and model to ensure all departments, including pharmacy and clinic, are appropriately staffed.

Administrative Accuracy: Oversee HR administration, including time and attendance records, ensuring complete compliance with company policy.
4. Stakeholder Relations & Integration

Collaboration: Drive cohesion and integration between the front-shop operations, the pharmacy, and the clinic teams.

External Partnerships: Build and maintain professional relationships with centre managers, suppliers, and distribution centres (DCs).
Minimum Requirements
Education & Qualifications
-
Essential (All): Grade 12 with a minimum of 50% in Mathematics and 50% in English.

Essential (External): A B.Degree or Diploma in Retail Management, Finance, Pharmacy, or a related field.

Internal: Successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
Experience & Skills
-
Management History: At least 2 years’ experience in a store management role within a retail or FMCG environment.

Financial Acumen: Proven experience managing budgets, profit and loss (P&L) statements, and financial ratios.

Legal Knowledge: Sound understanding of labor legislation and IR practices.

Software: High level of computer literacy and experience with retail management systems.
