Role Summary
The Cashier is a critical touchpoint for our customers, ensuring a seamless and positive checkout experience. You will be responsible for processing various payment types accurately while maintaining a clean and organized front-of-house area. This role requires an individual who can balance the technical aspects of financial transactions with high-level interpersonal skills to ensure every customer leaves with a smile.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Transactional Excellence

Payment Processing: Accurately process cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments using the Point of Sale (POS) system.

Financial Integrity: Handle returns, exchanges, and the issuance of receipts with meticulous attention to detail.

Accuracy: Maintain a balanced till throughout the shift and assist in daily cash-up procedures as required by management.
2. Customer Service & Front of House

Service with a Smile: Greet every customer warmly and provide professional, friendly service that reflects the TsAfrika brand.

Inquiry Handling: Assist customers with product inquiries, providing information regarding menu items, pricing, and store policies.

Ambience Maintenance: Ensure the checkout and surrounding front-of-house area is kept clean, tidy, and organized at all times.
3. Operational Support

Merchandising: Assist the team with light stocking and merchandising of the resale area during quieter periods to ensure products are well-displayed.

Multitasking: Support the broader catering team with various tasks to ensure the smooth running of the unit during peak hours.
Minimum Requirements
Education & Qualifications

Minimum Requirement: National Senior Certificate (Matric).
Experience & Technical Skills
-
Experience: Previous cashier or retail experience is considered a plus, but not required—we value energy and a willingness to learn!

Service Orientation: Strong customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude.

Accuracy: High level of attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial transactions.
