Role Purpose

The Area Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the operational success of multiple industrial catering sites. You will act as the primary point of contact for our clients, ensuring that every site under your supervision reflects the Eatfresh brand excellence. Your mission is to support site managers, drive compliance, and optimize operational efficiency across the province.

Key Areas of Responsibility

1. Multi-Site Operational Leadership

  • Site Support: Provide direct guidance and management to site managers and their teams to ensure seamless daily operations.

  • Brand Standards: Ensure 100% adherence to Eatfresh and Tsebo brand standards and contractual service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Reporting: Prepare and submit accurate, data-driven operational reports to the Operations Manager to track performance and site health.

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Primary Contact: Act as the face of Eatfresh for all regional clients, attending to their needs and fostering long-term partnerships.

  • Service Excellence: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the customer experience and deliver value-added services.

3. Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Auditing: Conduct regular and rigorous health and safety audits to ensure full compliance with Tsebo’s internal standards and national statutory regulations.

  • Risk Management: Identify operational risks at the site level and implement corrective actions immediately to maintain a zero-harm environment.

4. Financial & Administrative Control

  • Financial Acumen: Monitor site costs and operational budgets to ensure regional profitability.

  • Resource Management: Optimize the use of equipment, manpower, and stock across the various locations in your portfolio.

Requirements & Competencies

Education & Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirement: Matric (Grade 12).

  • Preferred: A Diploma in Operations Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.

  • Licensing: A valid driver’s license and own reliable transport are essential for travel between sites.

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Management History: 2–3 years’ experience in multi-site management within an industrial catering, facilities management, or similar high-volume environment.

  • Compliance Knowledge: Practical exposure to health and safety audits is highly advantageous.

  • Digital Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) for reporting and communication.
