Functional Area: Logistics & Warehousing
Purpose of the Role
The Warehouse Supervisor is the engine room of our distribution center. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse by balancing inventory accuracy, staff productivity, and safety compliance. Reporting to the Warehouse Controller, you will optimize space utilization, drive cost-saving initiatives, and ensure that our “Best in Class” operational standards are met daily.
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Inventory Management & Control

Stock Flow: Oversee the end-to-end receipt, storage, and dispatch of stock, ensuring every movement is tracked accurately.

Accuracy: Implement rigorous inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies.

Auditing: Lead regular stock audits and cycle counts to maintain 100% inventory integrity within the Syspro and FlowCentric systems.
2. Supervision & Team Development
-
Leadership: Manage warehouse staff by assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure maximum productivity.

Collaboration: Coordinate closely with Production, Exports, Call Centre, SHEQ, and Sales to align warehouse output with broader company goals.

Growth: Provide training and development opportunities, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
3. Safety, Quality & Compliance

Safety Culture: Enforce strict safety procedures, conduct regular inspections, and lead “Toolbox Talks” to ensure a zero-harm environment.

Product Integrity: Implement quality control procedures to minimize stock damages and handle product returns or disposal according to policy.

Compliance: Ensure absolute adherence to company policies, specifically regarding Food Safety and Pest Control regulations.
4. Process Optimization & Reporting

Continuous Improvement: Identify “Best in Class” opportunities to optimize space utilization and reduce waste.

Data Analytics: Maintain accurate records of all warehouse activities and generate KPI reports on inventory losses, order fulfillment rates, and team productivity.

Technology: Evaluate the need for new equipment or technology to enhance operational flow.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications & Education
-
Option 1: BCom Logistics (or equivalent Diploma) with FMCG warehouse experience.
-
Option 2: NQF 6 or higher qualification in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Logistics with at least 5 years’ experience in a warehousing environment (2 of which must be in a leadership position).

Option 3: Grade 12 with more than 5 years’ warehouse experience (3 of which must be in a leadership position).
Technical Skills & Experience
-
Systems: Working knowledge of a WMS and ERP system (preferably Syspro and FlowCentric).

Digital Literacy: Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Excel.

Domain Knowledge: Sound understanding of large-scale FMCG warehousing and distribution principles.
Core Competencies

Problem Solving: Ability to resolve complex delivery or inventory concerns promptly.

Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for coordinating with internal departments and managing customer inquiries.

Accountability: A high sense of responsibility regarding stock security and loss prevention.
