Role Summary

The General Worker at GWK Retail Kimberley provides essential operational support to ensure the branch runs smoothly. You will be responsible for stock management—specifically focusing on irrigation and agricultural products—cleaning, security support, and customer assistance. Key Work Output and Accountabilities

1. Specialized Stock & Irrigation Support

Technical Assistance: Assist with the receiving, unpacking, and merchandising of specialized irrigation stock, including pipes, fittings, sprinklers, and pumps.
Loading & Logistics: Perform manual load and offload tasks for customers and suppliers, ensuring that agricultural products are handled with care and efficiency.
Stock Management: Help maintain accurate inventory levels by assisting with regular stock counts and organizing storage areas.

2. Branch Maintenance & Housekeeping

Shelf Care: Ensure that retail shelves are clean, neatly packed, and correctly merchandised to provide a professional shopping experience.
Housekeeping: Perform general cleaning and upkeep of the warehouse, shop floor, and yard areas.
Mail Handling: Assist with the sorting and handling of branch mail and internal documentation as required.

3. Security & Loss Control

Vigilance: Support the branch’s loss control efforts by monitoring stock movement and being aware of security protocols.
Ad Hoc Duties: Perform various general support tasks as delegated by the branch manager to ensure operational excellence.

Requirements & Competencies

Education & Experience

Minimum Requirement: Grade 12 (Matric).
Skills: Basic reading and writing skills are essential.
Advantageous Knowledge: A basic understanding or interest in irrigation, plumbing, or agricultural products will be highly beneficial.
