Role Summary
The General Worker plays a fundamental role in the daily operations of our retail branch. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks ranging from stock handling and shelf care to security support and manual loading. At VKB, our purpose is to “Touch lives for the better,” and as a General Worker, you are the frontline support that ensures our farmers and consumers receive the quality service they expect from the GWK brand.
Key Work Output and Accountabilities
1. Stock Management & Shelf Care

Merchandising: Ensure all shelves are neatly packed, organized, and cleaned daily to maintain a professional retail environment.

Stock Handling: Assist with the receiving, unpacking, and movement of agricultural and retail stock within the warehouse and shop floor.

Loading & Offloading: Perform heavy-duty loading work, ensuring that products are moved safely and accurately for customers and delivery vehicles.
2. Operational Support & Maintenance

Cleaning Services: Maintain the hygiene and tidiness of the retail branch and surrounding work areas.

Mail & Logistics: Handle the internal and external movement of mail and light parcels as required.

General Assistance: Provide versatile support to the branch manager and supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations.
3. Security & Loss Control

Vigilance: Assist in monitoring the floor to prevent stock loss and ensure the safety of company assets.

Access Control: Support basic security protocols during the loading and offloading process to ensure all inventory is accounted for.

Minimum Requirement: Basic reading and writing skills (Literacy and Numeracy).

Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.

Physical Fitness: High levels of stamina and physical strength are required for constant loading and manual labor.
