Role Purpose

The Production Supervisor is responsible for the end-to-end management of a production shift. You will oversee compliance with Albany Quality Standards, manage health and safety protocols, and drive operational excellence through the MECP (Manufacturing Excellence Capability Program). This role is not just about oversight; it is about coaching your team to reach peak efficiency while maintaining a culture of safety and integrity.

Key Work Output and Accountabilities

Operational Excellence & MECP

  • Shift Management: Lead the daily running of the production shift to ensure all targets are met within the specified timeframes.

  • MECP Implementation: Maintain and drive the Manufacturing Excellence Capability Program (MECP) to optimize production output and reduce waste.

  • INVOCOMS: Facilitate and maintain daily INVOCOMS (Information, Volume, Cost, Quality, Maintenance, and Safety) meetings to ensure clear communication and alignment across the shift.

Quality & Safety Compliance

  • Albany Quality Standards: Enforce strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure every product meets the iconic Albany quality promise.

  • Safety Systems: Actively enforce established safety systems and protocols (OHSA) to maintain a zero-harm working environment.

  • Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits of the production line to identify and mitigate risks early.

Talent & Performance Management

  • Talent Scouting: Act as a strategic talent scout within your shift, identifying high-potential employees for professional and critical roles.

  • Collaboration: Network across business functions to ensure an effective talent acquisition process that meets the company’s strategic objectives.

  • Training: Ensure all operators are adequately trained on the latest equipment and safety procedures.

Requirements & Competencies

Education & Experience

  • Qualification: A relevant Tertiary Qualification (National Diploma or Degree in Production/Operations Management or Engineering) is highly preferred.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or food manufacturing environment.

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of MECP, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma principles.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret production data and implement corrective actions.
