Netcare N17 Hospital in Springs is seeking a dedicated Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for our patients and visitors. This role is critical in ensuring a seamless, coordinated, and welcoming experience across our Main, Casualty, and Radiotherapy desks. Role Summary

The Receptionist is an organized and proactive individual who manages the hospital reception desk with excellence. You will be responsible for greeting patients, managing admissions through SAP, assisting with digital platforms like the Netcare Mobile App, and handling financial administrative tasks. Your goal is to create a high-quality admission process where every patient feels supported and well-informed from the moment they arrive.

Key Work Output and Accountabilities

Disruptive Innovation & Patient Journey

  • Digital Adoption: Assist patients with the Netcare Mobile App and online pre-admissions. Support the CareOn adoption of electronic patient records to benefit both the business and patient safety.

  • Warm Welcome: Provide a professional greeting to patients, visitors, and doctors, directing them to appropriate wards or departments.

  • Seamless Admissions: Obtain and verify medical aid and insurance information via the SAP system, ensuring all personal details are validated during every visit.

  • Consent & Governance: Ensure all legal consents and Terms and Conditions are explained and signed, maintaining strict patient confidentiality at all times.

Financial Risk Management

  • Payment Processing: Receive cash and credit card payments, generate accurate receipts, and manage the secure reconciliation of funds.

  • Medical Aid Verification: Use web applications to verify medical aid rules, benefits, and co-payments, managing business financial risk effectively.

  • Specialized Admissions: Obtain authorizations for medical aid patients and process letters of guarantee for international or COID (Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases) patients.

Communication & Reception Management

  • Telephonic Etiquette: Answer calls within three rings, screening and transferring them correctly to relevant departments or doctors.

  • Query Resolution: Professionally address walk-in inquiries and provide constant feedback to patients regarding their admission status.

  • Reception Readiness: Maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception environment, ensuring marketing materials and brochures are always stocked.

  • Stakeholder Relations: Establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with internal staff and the public.

  • Professional Development: Actively engage in self-development to stay current with Netcareโ€™s evolving policies and procedures.

Skills Profile

Education (Essential)

  • Grade 12: A valid Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification.

  • Computer Literacy: High proficiency in computer systems and data entry.

Work Experience & Knowledge

  • Preferred Experience: Previous experience in a hospital environment or a high-volume customer service role.

  • Technical Skill: Experience with SAP ISH is highly preferred.

  • Industry Knowledge: Basic knowledge of medical aid scale of benefits and hospital standard operating procedures.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
