Role Purpose
The purpose of the P27 Shop Assistant/Cashier is to drive sales and customer loyalty by balancing efficient point-of-sale service with meticulous floor management. You are responsible for ensuring the store is always “Ready for Business” through stock replenishment, merchandising, and housekeeping, while ensuring that transactions are processed swiftly and accurately. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a variety of tasks and has the stamina for a dynamic retail floor.
Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities
1. Customer Service Excellence

Personalized Assistance: Proactively help shoppers find the right sizes, products, and styles in our clothing and cellular departments.

Query Resolution: Act as the first point of contact for customer queries or complaints, providing helpful and professional solutions.

Promotion Knowledge: Stay informed about current store promotions and “hot deals” to add value to every customer’s basket.
2. Efficient Cashier Duties

Payment Processing: Handle cash and card transactions with 100% accuracy.

Specialized Transactions: Process Lay-Bys, customer refunds, and gift card balances in accordance with company policy.

Financial Controls: Participate in till balancing and report any discrepancies or technical problems to the supervisor immediately.
3. Merchandising & Floor Standards

Replenishment: Ensure that the sales floor is constantly stocked so that customers never miss out on our best-sellers.

Pricing Accuracy: Ensure all products are correctly priced and that shelf edge labels (SELs) are up to date.

Visual Standards: Maintain high housekeeping standards, ensuring the store is neat, clean, and safe for shoppers.
4. Risk Management & Loss Prevention

Asset Security: Ensure that all high-value products are correctly tagged in line with company policy.

Inventory Accuracy: Participate in periodic stock takes and mini-counts to ensure stock integrity.

Security Vigilance: Remain alert for shoplifters or fraudulent activities and report any suspicious behavior to Management without delay.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
