Role Purpose
The purpose of the P27 Shop Assistant/Cashier is to provide an exceptional shopping experience by managing the balance between high-quality floor maintenance and efficient point-of-sale service. You will be responsible for stock replenishment, merchandising, and the accurate processing of transactions. This role is the heartbeat of our store operations, ensuring that the Cradlestone Mall branch remains “Ready for Business” at all times.
Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities
1. Customer Service & Sales Support

Shopper Experience: Proactively assist customers in finding products, navigating sizes, and exploring our latest clothing and cellular ranges.

Query Resolution: Handle customer complaints or queries with a professional and helpful attitude.

Promotion Awareness: Stay updated on current store promotions to provide accurate information and drive sales turnover.
2. Comprehensive Cashier Duties

Transaction Processing: Execute swift and accurate processing of cash and card payments.

Specialized Admin: Manage Lay-Bys, customer refunds, and exchanges in strict accordance with company policy.

Financial Integrity: Ensure accurate till balancing at the end of every shift and report any discrepancies to the Supervisor immediately.
3. Merchandising & Floor Standards

Stock Availability: Monitor the sales floor daily to ensure items are replenished and shelves never appear empty.

Pricing & Labeling: Verify that all stock is correctly priced and that promotional signage is correctly displayed.

Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shopping environment for both staff and customers.
4. Risk Management & Loss Prevention

Asset Security: Ensure all products are correctly tagged according to company policy to minimize shrinkage.

Stock Integrity: Participate in regular stock takes and mini-counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
