Role Purpose
The Store Manager is the ultimate custodian of the branch’s profitability and operational integrity. Your primary mission is to grow market share by implementing a localized business plan that aligns with the broader Divisional and Company strategy. You are responsible for every facet of the business, including strategic sales growth, asset protection (Cash, Stock, and Fixed), Human Resources, and strict OHSA compliance. We are looking for a leader who can maintain high trading standards while navigating the competitive landscape of the North West retail market.
Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities
1. Strategic Management & Market Growth

Strategic Execution: Develop and manage a Store Business Plan focused on achieving growth in transactions, sales, and market share.

Competitor Response: Proactively develop action plans to protect trade when competitors enter the local market.

Loyalty & Credit: Promote customer loyalty programs (VIC) and 3rd party credit to drive long-term revenue.
2. Asset Control & Financial Oversight

Shrinkage Control: Implement rigorous measures to control shrinkage and protect the store’s physical and financial assets.

Expense Management: Manage the store according to the Financial Model, ensuring all expenses remain in line with the budget.

Debtor Management: Oversee store debtors and ensure business trade licenses are renewed timeously.

Security: Analyze and recommend enhancements to physical security measures within the store.
3. Stock & Operational Standards

Stock Lifecycle: Manage the full lifecycle of stock, from ordering and receiving to clearing damaged, obsolete, or slow-moving items.

Daily Standards: Conduct daily floor walks to ensure “Ready for Business” standards, housekeeping, and merchandising policies are strictly adhered to.

Maintenance: Ensure the physical infrastructure, including lighting and racking, is maintained in excellent condition.
4. Human Resource & Safety Management

Leadership & Talent: Manage manpower requirements, succession planning, and staff training/development.

Employee Relations: Foster open communication with the Store Employee Forum and ensure a disciplined, high-performance culture.

OHSA Excellence: Manage all safety aspects in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including the appointment of reps and incident investigation.
5. Insurance & Compliance

Claims Administration: Manage the end-to-end process of insurance claims, from reporting incidents to submitting documentation.

The CB Way: Maintain the highest level of adherence to the Cashbuild Way controls and disciplines through regular internal audits.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
To be considered for this executive-level store management role in Moruleng, candidates must meet the following:

Education: Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.

Experience: * Minimum of 3 (three) years related retail management experience with post-matric qualifications, OR

5 (five) years related retail management experience.

Business Acumen: Well-developed understanding of financial models, benchmarks, and retail strategy.

Leadership: Strong leadership, administrative, and Human Resources management skills.

Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and cell phone ownership.
