Role Purpose

The Financial Controller: Audit, Process and Compliance is responsible for safeguarding the integrity of the financial environment at Senwes Equipment. Your primary mission is to evaluate existing business and system processes, identifying weaknesses and implementing improvements that align with global best practices. By conducting rigorous operational and system audits, you will ensure that all business units adhere to internal policies and national legislation, ultimately fostering a culture of high-level financial discipline and transparency.

Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities

1. Process Evaluation & System Improvement

  • Business Analysis: Analyze and evaluate existing business workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or control gaps.

  • Optimization: Design and implement improved system processes that enhance data accuracy and operational speed while maintaining strict oversight.

  • Change Management: Collaborate with IT and other internal divisions on large-scale project implementations and system upgrades.

2. Financial Control & Legislative Compliance

  • Control Strengthening: Enhance existing financial controls to mitigate risk, fraud, and financial inaccuracies across the Senwes Equipment footprint.

  • Policy Enforcement: Ensure that all financial activities are in total compliance with corporate policies, the Companies Act, and relevant South African tax and financial legislation.

3. Operational & System Auditing

  • Unit Audits: Conduct regular, detailed operational and system audits across various business units to verify the efficacy of controls.

  • Findings & Reporting: Prepare comprehensive audit reports for management, highlighting areas of concern and providing actionable recommendations for remediation.

  • Risk Mitigation: Track the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure that identified risks are properly addressed.

4. Project Management & Collaboration

  • Inter-divisional Support: Act as a financial subject matter expert during cross-functional projects, ensuring that financial compliance is integrated into new initiatives.

  • Training & Guidance: Provide guidance to staff on policy changes and new system controls to ensure smooth transitions during change management cycles.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for this professional financial leadership role in Klerksdorp, candidates must meet the following:

  • Education: A BCom or relevant B degree is required.

    • Advantageous: BCom Honours with completed articles, CA(SA), or CIMA qualification.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in financial management or accounting.
