Role Purpose

The Area Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the operational success and client satisfaction within a designated region of Cape Town. You will serve as the primary strategic link between Fidelity Security Services and our corporate clients, ensuring that contractual obligations are met with precision. This role involves the high-level management of security personnel, strict adherence to quality standards (ISO 9001:2008), and the maintenance of operational integrity through robust planning and incident management.

Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities

1. Client Liaison & Relationship Management

  • Service Excellence: Maintain and strengthen relations between Fidelity and the Client, ensuring all rendered services align with brand standards.

  • Service Evaluation: Constantly evaluate service levels and provide expert recommendations to clients regarding security improvements and risk mitigation.

  • Contractual Compliance: Manage allocated areas to ensure that every aspect of the Service Level Agreement (SLA) is executed as stipulated.

2. Operational Leadership & Staff Management

  • Supervision: Provide general management and direct supervision of security staff to ensure peak performance at all times.

  • Human Resources: Deal promptly with all HR-related queries, formulate disciplinary actions when necessary, and ensure timeous submission of employment documentation.

  • Training & Development: Ensure all Security Officers on-site meet the specific training and contractual requirements required for their posts.

3. Administration & Quality Control

  • Reporting: Submit detailed weekly and monthly incident and general operational reports to Regional Management.

  • ISO 9001:2008: Implement and maintain the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, ensuring all operational processes meet international standards.

  • Investigations: Lead investigations into security incidents and provide comprehensive reports and corrective action plans.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

To be considered for this senior leadership role, candidates must meet the following mandatory criteria:

  • Education: Matric/Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.

  • PSIRA Status: Must be PSIRA Grade A Registered (Active and in good standing).

  • Experience: * At least 10 years’ experience in the security industry.

    • At least 5 years’ experience in an Operational Security Management structure.

  • Licensing: Valid Driver’s License with own reliable transport (Essential for site visits).

  • Firearms: Working knowledge of the Firearm Act and valid Firearm Competency.

  • Quality Management: Sound knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 requirements.

  • Integrity: No criminal record or pending cases.

  • Strategic Planning: Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Office package for analytical reporting and project planning.

  • Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex security risks and formulate immediate tactical responses.

  • Leadership: Assertive and presentable with the ability to drive and manage change within the organization.
