The purpose of this role is to ensure efficient delivery and collection of stock to customers.

Your areas of responsibility:

DRIVING

• Complete a vehicle inspection sheet and ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy before embarking on a journey
• Report any defects/accidents of the vehicle to the branch manager immediately
• Navigate each destination on schedule to determine the most expedient trip
• Load stock according to the log sheet, together with the dispatch clerk and ensure that the stock corresponds to the delivery note
• Submit all relevant delivery administration and reports of each delivery for an accurate record of what has been completed
• Obtain clients’ and customers’ signatures as an acknowledgement of having received the delivered goods
• Effectively communicate with clients and customers to resolve complaints
• Ensure that the delivery vehicle is always clean
• Keep a record and advise the operations manager when the vehicle is due for service
• Report all delivery-related problems to the Branch Manager
• Maintain compliance with all safety and security regulations

STORES ASSISTANT

• Assist with receiving stock, quality checking, handling, and packing
• Assist with the dispatching of stock, quality checking, handling, and packing
• Process orders (picking slips) from Internal sales
• Ensure the correct items and quantities are pulled, and sign on the picking slips and stock bin cards
• Take customers’ stock/orders and paperwork to the dispatch area
• If applicable, ensure any cable cutting is correct
• Ensure good stock control and administration
• Attend to customers who come in to collect stock/orders
• Assist with loading and offloading of stock and packing in the correct stock allocation areas
• Ensure effective housekeeping and safety according to prescribed standards
• Ensure stores are kept neat and tidy
• Ensure that security regulations are always adhered to
• Perform other duties under instruction from the Branch / Stores Manager when required
• Assist with stock taking

Qualifications we are looking for:

• A valid grade 12 certificate is a MUST
• A valid Code 08 driver’s licence is a MUST
• Minimum of 2 years in a similar environment is an ADVANTAGE
• Good product knowledge
• Familiar with GPS technology devices
• Knowledge of warehouse processes
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and protective clothing
