Main Purpose of the Job
Reporting directly to the Unit Manager, the Ward Hostess is responsible for ensuring that all food and beverage areas are fully stocked and maintained in a pristine condition. You will be the face of the service, responsible for serving meals and beverages in a timely manner while attending to specific customer requests to ensure a positive and professional dining experience.
Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities
1. Service Delivery & Customer Experience

Professional Service: Provide a friendly, empathetic, and professional service to all patients, clients, and visitors.

Timely Serving: Responsible for the efficient distribution of food and beverages within the designated wards or units.

Request Management: Proactively attend to customer requests to ensure high levels of satisfaction and comfort.
2. Operational Excellence

Stock Management: Take full responsibility for ensuring that all food and beverage stations are fully stocked and ready for service.

Hygiene & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment in accordance with strict health and safety protocols.

Unit Support: Support the Unit Manager in daily operational tasks to achieve seamless service delivery.
3. Performance & Compliance

Operational Targets: Excel in operational excellence and financial performance to meet both company and client objectives.

Policy Adherence: Ensure all activities are carried out within the framework of Company policies, procedures, and food safety guidelines.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
To be considered for this associate-level role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education: Matric (Grade 12) is mandatory.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Ward Hostess role or a similar position within a hospitality/healthcare environment.

Industry Background: Proven working experience in a Hospitality environment with a strong focus on customer service.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse patients and staff.

Numerical Ability: Knowledge of basic mathematics for stock taking and portion control.
