Main Purpose of the Job
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for the heartbeat of the store. Your mission is to drive sales through exceptional leadership, maintain a pristine and aesthetically striking store environment, and ensure that every customer who walks in experiences the authentic GALXBOY culture. You will be hands-on in staff training, inventory management, and the execution of high-level visual merchandising.
Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities
1. Sales & Customer Service Leadership

Drive Performance: Lead by example on the sales floor to meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs), specifically UPT (Units Per Transaction), ATV (Average Transaction Value), and overall Turnover.

Floor Supervision: Maintain an active floor presence, supervising team members and allocating them according to the zoning guide to maximize customer engagement.

Service Standards: Ensure the team delivers premium customer service, resolving complaints and queries with professional confidence.
2. Visual Merchandising (VM) Excellence

Brand Integrity: Implement VM according to brand guidelines, ensuring the “rebellious and bold” aesthetic is maintained. Submit weekly VM photographic reports.

Maintenance: Conduct daily VM walks to ensure products are correctly tagged, steamed, hanging properly, and replenished.

Team Training: Educate the store team on visual standards to ensure the store is always trade-ready.
3. Inventory & Risk Management

Stock Processing: Oversee the processing of all deliveries on the day of receipt, ensuring accurate checking against invoices and immediate system capturing.

Organization: Maintain a structured and organized stockroom to ensure replenishment is fast and efficient.

Shrinkage Control: Implement and supervise strict risk control measures to minimize stock loss and alleviate financial shrinkage.
4. Operational Supervision

Daily Routines: Manage opening and closing procedures, POS operations, cash-ups, and cash drops with 100% accuracy.

Staff Admin: Monitor time and attendance and manage staff issues or performance concerns.

Compliance: Process refunds and exchanges in line with company policy, escalating complex issues to Operations.
Qualification and Skills Requirements
To lead the GALXBOY squad in Ballito, you must meet the following criteria:

Education: Matric Certificate (Compulsory). A Bachelor’s Degree is highly advantageous.

Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a retail managerial role (Essential).

Leadership: Strong ability to manage a team and drive a high-performance culture.
-
Systems: In-depth knowledge of business management processes and retail POS systems.

Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to the GALXBOY target audience.
