Position Overview
The General Assistant – TimberCity Stikland ensures the smooth daily operation of the business unit while adhering to company policies and procedures. This role involves assisting in multiple areas of the store, providing support to customers and suppliers, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the business unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with order collection and product inquiries.
- Load and offload vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Pack yard stock items accurately.
- Ensure cleaning and safekeeping of vehicles.
- Support suppliers and internal teams as required.
- Complete wash bay activities and maintain operational cleanliness.
- Uphold excellent customer service standards in all interactions.
- Promote and embody The Building Company’s values and culture through daily duties.
Job Requirements
- Education: Grade 12
- Experience & Skills:
- Basic product knowledge relevant to retail or building materials
- Ability to work across multiple business areas as operational needs dictate
- Strong customer service orientation
- Teamwork, accountability, and effective self-management
- Physical ability to handle stock, load/unload vehicles, and perform general duties
