Job Description
The Phlebotomist role at Ampath is central to delivering high-quality healthcare. Role Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates must have:
- A recognised qualification in Phlebotomy or Nursing
- Current registration with HPCSA or SANC
These qualifications ensure that you are technically equipped and professionally accredited to perform specimen collection safely and competently, contributing to the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
Skills Requirements
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Compassionate patient care and the ability to provide reassurance
- Competency with digital tools and patient data management systems
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate specimen labelling, documentation, and handling
- Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and in high-volume settings
- Teamwork and adaptability, particularly during night shift operations
