Job Description
The Courier role at Ampath goes beyond simple delivery. It is a responsibility rooted in reliability, professionalism, and precision. You serve as the vital connection between laboratories, healthcare providers, and patients who depend on fast and secure transport of critical medical materials.
Your primary responsibilities include the safe and efficient collection, transport, and delivery of specimens, reports, and parcels using a vehicle or motorbike. These items often contain sensitive, high-value diagnostic information essential to patient care. By ensuring that each item reaches its destination on time and in perfect condition, you contribute directly to accurate diagnoses and life-saving healthcare decisions.
Day-to-day duties include managing delivery schedules, navigating assigned routes, collecting and handing over specimens at hospitals, clinics, and doctor’s offices, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards. You will also maintain accurate delivery logs, adhere to traffic regulations, and respond promptly to urgent deliveries when required.

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- A valid South African driver’s licence: Code B
- Minimum of one year general driving experience
