Position Overview

The Client Service Officer: Employer Services is responsible for delivering front-line services to clients, including work seekers and employers. This role ensures effective processing of UIF applications, payment continuation forms, and administrative functions while upholding departmental policies and the Batho Pele Principles.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide screening services to clients and work seekers.

  • Process Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) applications and register payment continuation forms.

  • Perform administrative and operational functions at Labour Centres and satellite offices.

  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Assist clients in understanding UIF benefits and services.

  • Maintain accurate records and reports of client interactions and service delivery.


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Senior Certificate.

  • No previous work experience required.

Knowledge:

  • Unemployment Insurance Act and Regulations

  • Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act

  • Public Financial Management Act (PFMA)

  • Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)

  • Department of Labour and UIF Policies and Procedures

  • Treasury Regulations, UIF Vision, Mission, and Values

  • Batho Pele Principles

Skills:

  • Interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Telephone etiquette and interviewing

  • Computer literacy and report writing

  • Communication (verbal and written)

  • Listening and interpretation (UI Act & Contribution Act)

  • Conflict management and time management

  • Analytical thinking and ability to learn operational systems
