Position Overview
The Cape Town-based branch is seeking a National Retail Key Accounts Manager to manage and grow assigned national retail accounts in the FMCG seafood sector. Reporting to the Retail Sales Manager, this role is responsible for maximising turnover, profitability, and growth while ensuring the delivery of premium-quality products and maintaining strong customer relationships.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-senior level professional with experience in FMCG key account management, looking to drive business growth and strengthen market share in the seafood sector.
Key Responsibilities

Achieve budgets and targets for assigned Key Account customers, maximising sales, profitability, and growth.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with Key Account customers to prevent migration to competitors.

Gain a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and requirements to propose effective solutions.

Ensure timely delivery of products and services to Key Accounts.

Serve as the primary communication link between customers and internal teams.

Resolve customer issues and complaints professionally to maintain trust.

Prepare regular progress, forecast, and sales performance reports using key account metrics.

Manage and develop the internal and external team environment.

Provide sales feedback, training, and tools to ensure teams achieve company objectives.

Develop and implement sales growth strategies aligned with company targets.

Analyse competitor activity and provide actionable insights to the Retail Sales Manager.

Manage portfolio stock levels, replenishment planning, and forecast future demand.

Continuously assess and optimise SKU ranges within the portfolio.

Oversee and support sales representatives to ensure budget achievement, customer satisfaction, and strong operational relationships.
Minimum Requirements

Matric certificate essential.
-
Degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management required.

SAP proficiency.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in FMCG key account management.

Experience with major retail key accounts.

Seafood industry experience is advantageous.

Own reliable vehicle required.

Ability to travel locally as needed.
