Position Overview
The Durban Umbilo branch is seeking a dynamic Retail Shop Assistant who is passionate about tools, machinery, and customer service. This role is ideal for a young, energetic individual eager to build a career in the retail and tools industry.
You will support daily store operations, assist customers, manage stock, and uphold the company’s reputation for excellence. Experience in Tools & Machinery, Engineering, Automotive, Stock Control, or DIY retail will be a major advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service and product support.

Assist customers with tool, machinery, and spare part enquiries.

Perform merchandising and ensure visually appealing product displays.

Assist with stock control, stock rotation, and stock taking.

Support daily store operational tasks and retail branch procedures.

Ensure accurate pricing, shelf maintenance, and stock availability.

Promote sales by understanding customer needs and recommending suitable products.

Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organised retail environment.
Minimum Requirements

Senior Certificate (Matric).

Previous experience in:

Retail
-
Tools & Machinery
-
Automotive or Engineering
-
DIY or Hardware environments (advantage)

Exposure to merchandising, stock taking, or stock control (advantage).
