This Warehouse Manager role forms part of AFGRI’s Retail division and plays a critical part in ensuring operational efficiency, stock accuracy, and excellent customer service within the Bethlehem store environment.


Position Overview

AFGRI Retail is seeking an experienced and highly organised Warehouse Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Bethlehem warehouse. The successful candidate will manage staff, maintain stock accuracy, drive sales support within the warehouse environment, and ensure that all processes comply with company standards.

This role is ideal for a detail-driven, proactive, and customer-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced retail and agricultural environment.


Key Responsibilities

1. Personnel Management

  • Lead, guide, and develop warehouse staff to ensure optimal performance.

  • Conduct performance discussions and support employee growth.

  • Foster a disciplined, motivated, and productive workforce.

2. Warehouse Budget Control

  • Manage and monitor operational budgets.

  • Implement cost-saving strategies and efficient resource utilisation.

3. Sales Support

  • Support the retail sales environment through efficient warehousing processes.

  • Ensure accurate and timely stock availability to enhance customer satisfaction.

4. Stock Control & Inventory Management

  • Oversee all stock control processes and ensure accuracy.

  • Conduct cycle counts and manage stock variances.

  • Maintain an effective receiving and issuing workflow.

5. Operations & Administration

  • Manage general warehouse administration and reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and SOPs.

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safety-compliant warehouse environment.


Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Grade 12 (Matric) – essential

Work Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a store or warehouse environment

  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience (advantageous)

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of AFGRI Retail products

  • MS Office proficiency

  • Knowledge of POS systems

  • SAP experience (advantageous)

  • Valid Code 08 driver’s licence
