Position Overview
AFGRI Animal Feeds is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join its finance team in Centurion. This role is responsible for ensuring that all vendor transactions are accurately processed, reconciled, and paid on time in accordance with SARS regulations and internal financial controls.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining strong vendor relationships, ensuring compliance, and supporting the finance department with accurate reporting and administration. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical abilities, exceptional organisational skills, and experience in accounts payable within a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
Invoice & Payment Processing

Receive, review, and validate invoice information to ensure compliance with SARS regulations.

Ensure alignment between invoices, purchase orders (POs), and goods received notes (GRNs).

Resolve price and quantity discrepancies by liaising with vendors and business units.

Process payment proposals and ensure timely payments to all vendors.

Monitor the GRIR (Goods Received/Invoice Received) account to assist various business units.
Reconciliation & Financial Administration

Perform monthly vendor reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Conduct payment analysis to support efficient financial planning.

Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready financial records.

Provide support to Master Data to ensure vendor details are always up to date.
Vendor Management

Address supplier queries professionally and resolve issues promptly.

Ensure high levels of accuracy, consistency, and reliability in all vendor-related transactions.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Compliance & Reporting

Adhere to AFGRI’s internal controls, financial policies, and compliance standards.

Participate in audits when required and ensure complete and accurate financial records.

Uphold POPIA compliance in the handling, storing, and processing of all financial data.
Minimum Requirements
Education
-
Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.
Work Experience
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accounts payable environment.

Experience working on Sage will be an advantage.
Technical Competencies

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Strong basic accounting knowledge.
