Position Overview

Smollan is seeking proactive, motivated, and results-driven individuals to join our team as Product Consultants for Rabie Ridge and Modderfontein. The successful candidates will play a pivotal role in representing Smollan’s products and services, driving sales, increasing customer engagement, and achieving set targets at an in-store level.

As a Product Consultant, you will act as a trusted ambassador of the brand, ensuring that customers receive exceptional service while promoting our products in the forecourt environment. This role is ideal for individuals with strong sales acumen, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience Management

  • Manage customer vetting and registration processes efficiently.

  • Oversee the rental and product delivery processes.

  • Gather customer feedback and suggestions to continuously improve service offerings.

  • Ensure that customer complaints, queries, and requests are addressed and resolved promptly.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor, track, and maintain inventory, ensuring proper storage and accountability of all equipment.

  • Charge devices and maintain equipment to support operational readiness.

  • Identify discrepancies in inventory and implement corrective measures.

Compliance and Standards

  • Ensure compliance with brand management, HSSE regulations, and operational standards onsite.

  • Escalate non-compliance issues to management promptly and ensure corrective actions are taken.

  • Maintain discipline and uphold brand representation standards in all customer interactions.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Capture and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports based on customer interactions, sales, and product performance.

  • Provide insights and feedback on what is working and highlight areas that require improvement.

  • Monitor performance indicators and contribute to the development of actionable strategies.

Administration and Communication

  • Maintain accurate records of sales, customer interactions, and inventory.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure operational efficiency.

  • Identify challenges and propose corrective actions to improve workflow and customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Qualification: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.

  • Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in commission-based sales within a retail environment.

  • Knowledge & Skills:

    • Sales and marketing knowledge.

    • Customer service excellence.

    • Effective administration and reporting skills.

    • Self-management and time management abilities.

    • Understanding of renewable energy solutions is advantageous.

    • Literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
