Educational Qualification
Applicants must have:

Matric / Grade 12 Certificate

Recognised Degree in:

Experience and Skills

Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in Student Support Services or administration within a teaching and learning environment

Supervisory experience is an added advantage

Valid driver’s license

Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and relevant administrative software

Understanding of Student Support Services Framework

Knowledge of career guidance, academic support, and extra-curricular programs

The Student Support Liaison Officer plays a vital role in promoting student well-being, academic success, and engagement. Responsibilities include providing:

Psychosocial support to students

Assistance with academic support plans and intervention strategies

Career guidance, counselling, and mentorship

Oversight of student governance, leadership development, and exit support programs

Implementation of sports, recreation, arts, and cultural initiatives

Support for disability desk and inclusive student programs
The role ensures students are supported holistically, addressing academic, socio-economic, and emotional challenges while fostering an environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Student Support Services

Provide comprehensive student support at campus level

Implement pre-induction and induction programs for new students

Develop and maintain academic support plans

Address socio-economic challenges including substance and alcohol-related matters

Conduct home visits, interviews, and counselling sessions where necessary
2. Academic and Career Guidance
-
Facilitate Work Integrated Learning (WIL) and student work placement programs
-
Deliver entrepreneurship, career guidance, and academic counselling sessions
-
Track student performance and implement absence reduction programs
3. Extra-Curricular and Inclusive Programs
-
Implement sports, arts, culture, and recreational programs for students

Manage the disability desk and related student support initiatives
-
Forge partnerships with relevant stakeholders for collaborative student development
4. Reporting and Administration

Prepare weekly and monthly reports for campus management
-
Maintain accurate records of student interactions, support interventions, and program outcomes
-
Ensure compliance with college policies and regulatory frameworks
5. Student Leadership and Governance

Facilitate student governance and leadership development
-
Provide exit support and guidance for graduating students

Support initiatives that promote student engagement and institutional success
