Position Overview
The Food Service Aid: Supervisor is responsible for supervising food service operations, ensuring hygiene, safety, and efficiency in the dining hall. This role includes staff management, food safety compliance, and maintaining high standards of service and presentation.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise food service aid staff, create shift schedules, and manage attendance.

Ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.

Maintain cleanliness in the dining hall, including tables and food service areas.

Train staff on food safety and hygiene standards.
-
Ensure availability of cutlery, serviettes, condiments, butter, and jams on tables.
-
Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and quality standards.
-
Assist in food preparation and serving when required.
-
Report losses, damages, or theft observed within the facility.
-
Ensure food quality and presentation meet established standards.
-
Work after hours when functions or formal dinners are hosted.
Minimum Requirements
-
Grade 11 (NQF Level 3) or equivalent.
-
Minimum of 3 yearsβ experience in a food service aid environment.

Language proficiency in English (written and verbal).

Planning and organising skills.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.
-
Food service operating skills and inventory management.

Knowledge of cleaning, maintenance, and health & safety regulations.

Flexibility to work after hours when required.
