Position Overview

Tiger Brands is seeking a highly skilled Quality Operations Analyst to join our quality management team. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) across Tiger Brands factories and warehouses. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and customer standards, driving plant hygiene, implementing HACCP and core standards, and supporting certification processes.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, and continuous improvement, who can take ownership of quality initiatives while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System Implementation

  • Implement and maintain QMS across factories and warehouses.

  • Ensure proper documentation control and accurate record-keeping.

  • Manage corrective and preventative action processes to address non-conformances.

  • Conduct internal audits and support external audits to ensure compliance with standards.

  • Lead non-conformance investigations and implement resolutions effectively.

Consumer Safety & Compliance

  • Implement and manage consumer safety management systems.

  • Drive adherence to Tiger Brands core standards and prerequisite programs (PRPs).

  • Ensure successful implementation and maintenance of HACCP standards.

  • Maintain compliance with certification requirements and liaise with certification bodies.

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to all quality-related legal and customer requirements.

Operational & Plant Hygiene Management

  • Oversee plant hygiene services, including cleaning contracts, garment management, canteen services, and sanitary services contracts.

  • Ensure that hygiene and safety procedures are consistently applied and maintained.

  • Act as custodian for the Document Management System (DMS) quality module and manage super-user responsibilities.

Continuous Improvement & Performance Analysis

  • Analyse internal and external audit findings to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Support the implementation of improvement initiatives across production and operational processes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance quality, operational efficiency, and compliance standards.

  • Drive performance monitoring to ensure that quality objectives are met consistently.

Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Prepare and submit quality performance reports to management.

  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to support operational decision-making.

  • Liaise with internal teams, certification bodies, and external auditors to maintain compliance and best practices.

  • Provide guidance and support to production and warehouse staff on quality standards and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in natural science, engineering, or a related field.

  • TQM or Quality Management qualification is advantageous.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality and manufacturing environments.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Strong understanding of internal and external audits and compliance requirements.

  • Familiarity with project management approaches.

  • Solid knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as TPM, WCM, and Lean.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
