Position Overview

Motus Autoworx East London is seeking a reliable, honest, and experienced Bodyshop Assistant: Panel Beater to join their workshop team.
The successful candidate will assist senior panel beaters with the repair of accident-damaged vehicles, ensuring high-quality workmanship that supports both service standards and financial targets for the branch.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on panel beating experience who is eager to work in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect accident-damaged vehicles entering the workshop and verify details against the job quotation

  • Assist with stripping vehicles and assessing the extent of the damage

  • Support senior panel beaters with repair tasks

  • Shape and form metal panels using hand tools and specialised equipment

  • Prepare surfaces for primer, including sanding and smoothing

  • Remove dents and straighten body panels

  • Conduct welding and soldering when required

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment

  • Hand-held equipment to be booked into the storeroom daily

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12

  • Technical Qualification: Journeyman / BA Journeyman

  • Minimum 2+ years’ relevant experience repairing accident-damaged vehicles

  • Valid, unendorsed Code 8 driver’s licence (minimum 2 years old)

  • Basic computer literacy

  • Strong proficiency in English (verbal and written)
