About the Department of Employment and Labour
The Department of Employment and Labour ensures fair labour practices, manages employee relations, and supports compliance with labour laws across South Africa. Position Overview
The Department invites unemployed graduates to apply for the Employee Relations Internship 2025–2027. This internship offers practical experience in labour relations, grievance and misconduct management, case analysis, and administrative support within the public sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with opening misconduct and grievance files.
- Compile monthly and quarterly statistics for management reporting.
- Assist in sourcing relevant case laws.
- Analyse cases to assess merits of success.
- Provide administrative support within the Employee Relations branch.
Minimum Requirements
- South African citizenship.
- Must be unemployed graduates who have not previously participated in internship programmes.
- Qualifications: LLB, National Diploma (NQF Level 6), or Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) in:
- Labour Relations
- Labour Law
- All foreign qualifications must be evaluated by SAQA.
- Willingness to relocate if internship is outside applicant’s area of residence.
