Position Overview

The Department invites unemployed graduates to apply for the Gender, Disability and Youth Internship 2025–2027. This internship provides practical experience in disability mainstreaming, youth and gender-focused programmes, and social development initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of disability mainstreaming initiatives.
  • Support and coordinate activities, events, and programmes focusing on gender, disability, and youth (GDY).
  • Contribute to departmental projects promoting social inclusion and empowerment.
  • Maintain records, reports, and documentation of GDY programmes.

Minimum Requirements

  • South African citizenship.
  • Must be unemployed graduates who have not previously participated in internship programmes.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) or National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in:
    • Social Work
    • Psychology
    • Social Science
    • Gender Studies
    • Youth Studies
  • All foreign qualifications must be evaluated by SAQA.
  • Willingness to relocate if internship is outside applicant’s area of residence.
