ROLE OVERVIEW
The Retail Store Assistant at the Parelberg store in Paarl will assist with the overall management of the store, ensuring operational and administrative duties are performed according to company standards, policies, and procedures. This role combines customer service, stock management, administration, and operational support to guarantee smooth store functioning and a world-class shopping experience.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
-
Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
-
Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP).

Retail experience.
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Advantageous:
-
Prior experience in retail administration.
-
Leadership or supervisory exposure in a retail environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Manage and report all customer compliments and complaints to management.
-
Establish professional and effective relationships with customers.
-
Resolve customer stock queries efficiently and liaise with appropriate departments.
-
Maintain effective external communication with customers requiring feedback.
-
Adhere to customer turnover per hour benchmarks.
-
Manage shorts and overs at the point of sale, including floats.
-
Handle refund and return transactions accurately.
-
Ensure correct handling of back shopping and returned goods.
-
Verify and review deliveries and invoices for complete accuracy.
-
Assist the Receiving Manager in preparing and logging Distribution Centre claims.
-
Manage and control high-risk stock items to prevent losses.
-
Prepare daily run reconciliations.
-
Order, prepare, and receive branch change requirements to ensure cashiers have sufficient change.

Maintain effective document control, including floats, petty cash, and cash on hand.

Support operational and administrative activities to maintain a smooth workflow.
