iStore East Rand Mall is actively seeking an experienced Admin Assistant Retail professional to help lead, organise, and manage back-of-house operations. If you’re passionate about process excellence, retail efficiency, and team leadership, this opportunity is tailored for you.
Role Overview
The Admin Assistant Retail plays a pivotal role in maintaining smooth and compliant operational processes at the store level. This role is essential to the successful function of the back-end business operations. You will be responsible for supporting and leading administrative operations, driving compliance with internal processes, and helping ensure the store meets its operational and sales goals.
You will also take the lead in creating a well-coordinated environment where risk is minimized, and performance is optimised through robust SOP adherence and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the store’s back-of-house operations, ensuring efficiency and consistency with iStore’s procedures and guidelines

Manage and support internal administrative workflows, including stock control, reporting, vendor communication, and operational logistics

Monitor, evaluate, and ensure compliance with all SOPs and risk protocols across departments

Serve as a point of contact for process improvement, store system upgrades, and internal auditing readiness

Lead, develop, and support the admin and operations team by providing feedback, guidance, and performance coaching

Assist the store manager in maintaining effective internal communication and operational accountability

Monitor operational data and performance metrics, offering input to enhance business performance

Manage petty cash, inventory documents, and back-office system reconciliation

Foster a collaborative work environment that supports retail staff, enhances customer service, and supports business functions

Facilitate communication between sales, repairs, technical support, and logistics teams to maintain workflow cohesion
Qualifications and Experience

Matric Certificate is required

A Tertiary Qualification in Business, Retail, or Administration is highly advantageous

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a high-volume retail environment

Extensive knowledge of retail operations and administration

Experience in matrix management, working across various teams and business units

Familiarity with Apple products, systems, or the iStore retail environment is a plus
